Summer Internship

AHHH!! I’ve been gone sooo long! Currently I am interning for our wedding chapel at my church! Let me tell you all about it so far…

My church is still in the process of building a wedding chapel. It’s a ministry to help couples have a successful marriage in life. The couple will book their wedding with us and we will mentor them for 4 weeks up until their BIG DAY with a program our church has created. The program will teach them how to deal with the bumps that come with marriage but also how to celebrate their love in the Godliest form.

The beginning
“Start of something new…” -HSM

There were 17 interns this summer who came in on Tuesday’s and Thursday’s from 9-5 to work in their ‘pod.’

I got to work alongside a wonderful, Godly, beautiful woman named Krystal. She showed me the in’s and out’s of how to prep, plan, and pursue a task.

I got to see the transformation of the chapel being built from dirt to 4 walls. I was able to serve the construction workers twice during this summer during the ‘construction lunch’ we held for them. It was so amazing to see God work in & through the men who worked on this ministry for us. I was able to help plan for the 3 future open houses to show off our new building and am also able to get insight on the planning for a wedding.

Outside of chapel
“Going to the chapel.. and we’re gonna get married…” (in process)
Inside chapel
“EEEK I’M GETTING GOOSEBUMPS!!” – me (in process)

Currently we are just less than a week out from our very first wedding!! I am so excited to be able to help out and get to experience how to plan and coordinate a ceremony.

During the two days we would have one or two hour long meetings;

  1. A leadership meeting to teach each of the interns how to become a successful leader lead by one of the staff members of our church.
  2. A student motion focus lead by our high school pastor on how to grow … ???
  3. A bible study led by our high school pastor. We read through the book of Joshua.

Each meeting was very insightful and equipped me for any leadership opportunities to come.

I am so blessed to not have only been given and entrusted with this internship but also work alongside 16 of my very best friends and incredible mentors of my church. God is so good.

“She is clothed with strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come.”
